Lonchaea peregrina
From Kovalev, 1981 Male (holotype and other material). Width of head
1.2-1.*4 times reater than its hei ht. Eyes bare. Frons,
lunule, e e nd bucc e with a sil y lustre, bri hter on the
enae, especially on their upper part. Minimal width of frons
(at the level of the upper mar in of thelunule) al ost equal to
the height and 1.2-1.*; ti es less than the idth at the level
of the anterior ocell s. Betwee the ostvertical and the ocellar setae here are 2- pairs of hairs t all of these are
distinctly shorter and finer than the postvertical setae s
ocellar tubercle without hairs bet een or in front of the
ocellar setae. Orbital sclerites lustrous, not pollinose, are
abov seta. Lunule high, with concave lateral margins, conver¬
ging a a acute angle and passing into the short upper mar in,
with k - 7 hairs on each side. Genae very wide, narrowing even¬
ly towards the middle. The greatest width of the buccae is a
little reater '(-1.1-1.2 times) than the width of the 3rd seg¬
ent of the antennae; the 6-8 peristomal setae make p a re¬
ular row. Antennae blackish; base of 3rd segment gingerish
posteriorly on its inner side ? alon the posterior margin of
the 3rd segment the gin erish-brownish colour may be traced
almost to the tip of the segment. 3rd se ment lon , 2.1-2.5
times longer than its width. Palps not protruding or only bare¬
ly protrudin past the mar in of the eristomal openin .
Thorax dorsally bluish-black, lustrous. Hu eral tu- 2
bercles (except for the posterior ed e), anterior and lateral
margins of mesonotum nd scutellum finely pollinose. D nse
hairs on mesonotum fairly lon , some almost half as lon as the
lar est of the posterior mesopleural setae feeen from he si e).
Between the ransverse ro of setae on the mesonotum a d the
scutellum here are 5-10 eakly developed setae and hairs.
Notopleural pits bare. Mar inal hairs on scutellum formin a
re ular ro ; 2-3 hairs between he apic l setae 3 hairs
between each apical and lateral se a; no hairs on he disc of
the scutellura and on the mar in in front of the lateral setae.
Pleura with a bro nish pollinosityi only on the mesopleura behind the stigmal hairs is here a lustrous small spot, ene¬
rally completely devoid of pollinosity. 7 8 stigmatic hairs,
of which 1-2 are stron ly developed. Pteropleura with 1-3
hairs anteriorly (in the olotype the ri ht pteropleuron is
bare I ) i 2-5 hairs be ind the sternopleural seta.
Win s transparent with a yellowish tinge. Upper surf ce
of se ment of costal ein between and R2+3 bare. Sti mal
costal segment short, 1.3-1.8 times lon er than vein a and
comprisin 0.5- -0.8 of t e maximal width of the costal cell.
Squa a whitish, with a whitish-yellow argin and fri gej frin e
without a tuft of lon er hairs.
1st - 2nd segments of tarsi light-yellows 3rd seg ent
of hin tarsi eakly dar ened, of fore and mid tarsi - more
intensely darkened; Jlth - 5th segments bro nish.
Abdomen pale bluish - black. Tergites I - IV with a
brownish pollinosity, somewhat finer on tergite IV; sides of
tergites II and III not pollinose; on tergite IV the pollino¬
sity occupies a more or less wide band from the nterior o
the posterior margin. Ter ite V bears longer hair ha on
the other tergites. Sternite I covered ith a fine pollinosity
on its sides and posteriorly, and sometimes also along the mid
line, bu l strous on its other parts; the whole furnished
with hairs. Following sternites with a grey pollinosity, wi hout
spots devoid o pollinosity. Length of lobes of pariandriu
clearly larger th n the height, their posterior mar ins are
drawn out in the ventral half in the for of ide ro nded lobes.
Posterio-ventral cor ers of telomeres barely protrudin ast
the margins of the periandrium (seen from the side); 11-14 teeth alon the ventral margin of the telomeres; 3 larger teeth beside the posterio-ventral cor ers. Aedea us not ex¬
tending past the middle of the ventral margir.s of the lobes of
the periandrium; terminal segment short, at least 2.5 times
shorter than the basal se ment, not widened at the base (1,
Fi ure 25)8 basal seg ent apically drawn-out on the dorsal
side in a tooth-like fashion
