REVISIÓN TAXONOMICA PARCIAL DEL GENERO DASIOPS RONDANI (DIPTERA LONCHAEIDAE) EN LA REGION NEOTROPICAL

Abstract:

The present work consists of a partial review taxonomy of the genus Dasiops in the Neotropics. Including a cladistic analysis based in 35 species using 35 morphological characters. 420 specimens were examined from Argentina, Colombia, Brasil, Peru and Panama.
From the cladistic analysis two groups were determined the first including 9 species (D. plumatus group of McAlpine) the other 26 species were included in a cluster now named as the D. obscurus group. 26 species are described or re-described including 9 new to science** All the descriptions are complemented by electronic and digital micro photography. A key to all the Neotropical Dasiops species is included.
