SUMMARY
Neosilba glaberrima (Wiedemann, 1830) appears to be one of the most widespread, most widely collected and most polyphagous Lonchaeidae of the Neotropical region. It occurs in many of the Caribbean islands and throughout Central and South America as far south as Peru and southern Brazil. It has been reared from numerous fruits and vegetables, but indications are that it only attacks those fruits, leaves, stems, etc. that have already been infested with other insect larvae especially Tephritids of the genus Anastrepha.
