Abstract:

Dasiops luzestelae n. sp. (Diptera: Lonchaeidae) is a species that previously was not described formally and is regarded as
an undetermined pest affecting buds of Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa Degener. This study evaluated material collected in 10
departments of Colombia where passion fruit crops constitute
an important economic income. Data of geographical distributin and passion fruit crops associated with Dasiops luzestela n. sp. are presented.
