New species of Lonchaeidae (Diptera) from the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia

Abstract:

Examination of the collections of the Swedish Museum of Natural History, Stockholm has revealed that there were a number of undescribed species of Lonchaeidae collected by Malaise trap in the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia. From that material this paper introduces one new species in the genus Dasiops, D.kinabalu sp.nov two new species in the genus Lonchaea namely L.malaysia sp.nov and L.orbitalis sp.nov. and nine new species in the genus Silba namely S.bifurcata sp.nov, S.cameronia sp.nov, S.denticulata sp.nov, S.hirticeps sp.nov, S.isla sp.nov, S.longistylus sp.nov., S.papei sp.nov S.rotherayi sp.nov and S.spinosa sp.nov.
