Abstract:

The first in depth study of the damage caused to figs by the black fig fly Silba adipata ( referred to as Lonchaea aristella in this paper). The paper contains illustrations o]f the adult main body parts including aculeus and male genitalia; eggs, puparia and detailed drawings of the larvae including head skeleton. There are several black and white photos of the larvae within figs. The paper also contains information on the parasitic wasp Pachyneuron vindemmiae
